Background
Hi, I'm Payton. If you're here, there's a good chance life has been feeling a little heavier, louder, or more complicated than you'd like. Maybe anxiety has been calling the shots, OCD has been making unreasonable demands, trauma has left its fingerprints behind, or you're simply exhausted from trying so hard to keep everything together. Whatever brought you here, I'm glad you found your way.I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing therapy to clients in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Maine. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and young adults across a variety of treatment settings, including inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals facing everything from everyday stressors to some of life's most difficult challenges.
My specialty is treating OCD with the use of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), but I also incorporate principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as I-CBT. Additionally, I am EMDR-trained and utilize trauma-informed approaches when working with individuals who have experienced distressing or traumatic events. My goal is to help clients learn how to make room for uncomfortable thoughts and feelings while moving toward a life that feels meaningful and authentic.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, genuine, and relational. While I take your struggles seriously, I don't believe therapy has to feel stiff or clinical all the time. Some sessions involve tackling difficult emotions, some involve celebrating wins that once felt impossible, and occasionally we'll laugh at the absurd things anxiety or OCD tries to convince us of. Growth is challenging, but it doesn't have to happen without moments of lightness and humor.
I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are without judgment, without needing to have the "right" words, and without pretending you've got everything figured out. Together, we'll work toward helping you build flexibility, confidence, and a life that feels bigger than fear.
And if you're worried about being "too much," "not enough," or somehow the most complicated client a therapist has ever seen, you're almost certainly not. Humans are wonderfully weird, and there's room for all of it here.
